Well from the title one can only assume that this post is going to be about the similarities and the differences between IPv4 and IPv6 but, reality checks in, it is no where near. You can find number of papers that deals with the comparative study between the two IP addressing schemes. This post is rather about the myth that people are so engrossed in regarding the transition from IPv4 to IPv6. Weeeeeee!!!..wow!!!..yehhhh. How wonderful it is to have a new range of IP addresses from the next decade onwards. Well the only true thing about the previous statement is that by 2010 IPv4 would have exhausted all their addresses and everyone is ready for the new class of addresses.
Reality bites doesn’t it? It is not as easy to make a transition from IPv4 to IPv6 due to alot of hardware incompatibility. Well I am uploading a pdf that clearly and very interestingly shows the facts and myths involved in the transition.
